on april 14, the people's government of shaanxi province announced its decision to award science and technology achievements. professor chen yulin and associate professor ren zhouzheng of the college were respectively awarded the first and the second prize for scientific and technological progress award.

presided by professor chen yulin, the research and application of the key technology of germplasm innovation and efficient and healthy breeding of north shaanxi white cashmere goat targeted the serious problems in the development of cashmere goat industry, such as "degeneration of varieties, low performance of cashmere production and imperfect breeding of improved breeds". the core breeding group of northern shaanxi white cashmere goat was established based on the research on the gene excavation and evaluation of superior germplasm, germplasm innovation, high-efficiency ecological and healthy cultivation, etc. a genetic editing cashmere goat breeding resource population with both cashmere and meat was created and evaluated systematically. in the meantime, the research on the nutrient requirement of cashmere goat, "two-year three-birth" and high-efficiency house-feeding healthy breed techniques in domestic sheep farm have been carried out, and an integrated ecological breeding mode for white cashmere goats in domestic sheep farm in northern shaanxi has been formed with good economic, social and ecological benefits.

research, development and promotion of key technologies in the production of new pellet carriers for feed additives, presided over by associate professor ren zhouzheng, integrated the animal nutrition principle with the material engineering technology based on the industrial demand. innovation research from three levels of "idea," "technology," "product" was carried out to: (1) construct the database of carrier raw materials, and put forward the new concept of compound preparation; (2) create a new type of pellet carrier, and match and develop a complete set of production technology system; (3) formulate a technical guide for that application of the pellet carry, and develop a new feed additive product. the project team creatively integrated the production technology system of a new type of feed additive pellet carrier, and carried out extensive popularization and application, so as to achieve remarkable improvement in the uniformity, stability and safety of feed additive products. efforts have been made to promote the high-quality development of feed additive industry.

in recent years, the college has attached great importance to the application of shaanxi science and technology award. from 2019 to 2021, three first-class prizes and three second-class prizes presided over by researchers of the college were awarded. it is hoped that the scientific and educational personnel of the college will actively strive for greater gains in 2022.
